Worst Day in Europe
Yesterday was my worst day in Europe. It was my first day babysitting and I was trying to take one of the girls to horse riding camp. I was driving the family car, and almost immediately I got lost. While trying to turn around in a parking lot, I reversed and accidentally hit a parked car. This was my first accident ever in life. I've never even been pulled over by the police. Tears were popping out of my eyes, but the woman whose car I hit was very nice. She didn't speak English, but someone at her work did. They felt bad for me because I was so upset. First two hours watching these kids and I get in an accident...how could I not feel bad?! The family was very understanding too and not mad at all. The best part was when the nine year old told the woman whose car I hit that this was my first accident. Oh yeah, she told the woman in French! I was completely useless!! So that was my worst day ever.

sorry to hear aboot your accident. did the cops come? was it really only a scratch or something? are you making this seem like much more than it really is?? did this even really happen??
ReplyDeleteon another note...candyland was not my favorite game...i always got screwed when we got to the fat chocolate blob guy thing...
I'm sorry that your day sucked. I think my dad's only accident happened in Spain so maybe there's something about Europe that makes it inevitable.
ReplyDeleteI feel letting your kids win at Candyland makes you a better babysitter. My mom always complains about how she would let us win at Candyland and how hard it was for her to throw the games. So at least this way you don't have to be trying to let them win.
C'mon Jeannette, own up. You said that you got sick of losing and tried to cheat, but you still lost anyway.
ReplyDeleteOh Jeannette, I can't tell you how badly I feel about this. How upsetting. Talk about feeling at the mercy of someone else. Not to mention what it does for confidence and self esteem. I mean, did the little girl ever get to horse camp? And if so was she late? Did all the other kids stare? Did she get stuck with the ugly old nag that was really part mule? (Hee Hee ;) ). Seriously, I hope you are recovered and feeling much better today. Now go out there and rally back with CandyLand! Go for Queen Frostine or whoever and be ruthless!! Love you!!
ReplyDeleteWe need to have a convo about how to cheat in Candyland. Yes, I know how to cheat at Candyland. Sorry about the wreck. That sounds like a nightmare. Wreck and border patrol in one month. Boo.
