IKEA Today

Today we went to IKEA in Aubonne, Switzerland. That store is amazing. That's all that needs to be said. We got some things, plates, pillows, a rug, coffee table, etc. I'll post pictures. Our living room almost looks like people live here. I've been holding off with pictures of our house because right now there isn't much to see. Soon though.

This weekend Ronny is playing in a soccer tournament and I'm going to be a cheerleader. It's on Sunday which means I won't be going to the awesome farmer's market. I was a little bummed, but there is always next Sunday.

We officially bought a car. It's a VW Polo....a little European car. Hopefully we will pick to up tomorrow. We still need insurance...what an ordeal.

Farmer's Market in Thoiry

So we live in the coolest little village. On Sundays there is a farmer's market that basically closes one of the main roads. It has everything! There are meat carts, vegetable merchants, bread carts. It's so awesome! We bought peaches, avacados, a baquet, and two croissants. Next week I am going to buy flowers to plant a window bed. Everyone here has flowers in the windows, so naturally I must have them too! Next time we go we'll bring the camera. It's a sight you have to see!

Interesting food packaging

The Pepsi bottle is 1.5 liters and appears to be more phallic than our 2 liters back home. The mayonnaise is in a tube. According to a random American we met in the groccery store, this mayonnaise tastes the most like what we are used to. Most mayonnaise over here has mustard mixed in it...gross. Hopefully our tube o' mayonnaise will taste decent.

Back-tracking part 2

Highlights from our visit to New Hampshire.

A little back-tracking

Before crossing the pond we visited with Richie, Leigh, and Lily in New Hampshire. Best week ever! We ate lobster, bonded with our neice, and had such a great time with Richie and Leigh! After leaving New Hampshire we went to Boxford, MA to stay with Pam and Charlie. From there (are you confused yet) we stayed one night in Southie with Charlie.

We Made It!

I can't believe the moment has finally arrived....we live in France! I am currently sitting in my kitchen planning what to buy/clean/put away first. The apartment is pretty decent, naturally it needs to be inhabited to really feel like 'our place'. There have been a lot of concerns about the roof and the ceiling in my apartment looks great, so no leaks. Once I get over the jet-lag I'll take pictures and show everyone. The outside is not much to get excied about. It's an old barnhouse and it looks like one. The inside is nice and really just needs some candles to get rid of the smell of emptiness. There will be so much more to come, but for now we have to get food and supplies.

What a day!

The Journey Begins

It's almost time! Friday (June 5th) we leave for Boston. We will meet up with Richie, Leigh, and Lily. While Ronny is giving the talk of his life at the SUSY 09 Conference, Jeannette will be in New Hampshire with her favorite neice! On June 14th we will leave for Europe!
